Bishop Auckland Life โ Terms & Conditions
Version: โ ยท Effective: โ
These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Bishop Auckland Life ("the Platform", "Bishop Auckland Life", "we", "us" or "our").
By creating an account or using parts of the Platform where acceptance is required, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not create or use an account where acceptance is required.
You must meet the minimum age and eligibility requirements displayed by the Platform.
You are responsible for providing accurate information and keeping account information reasonably up to date.
You must keep login credentials secure and must not knowingly allow another person to use your account in a way that breaches these Terms.
We may suspend or restrict an account where reasonably necessary to protect users, businesses, the Platform or comply with legal obligations.
Customers may use the Platform to discover local businesses, events, offers and other information and may use available enquiry, job, saving and communication functionality.
The Platform does not guarantee that a business, event, offer or service will be suitable, available, safe, satisfactory or as described.
Customers should verify important information directly with the relevant business or organiser.
Businesses are responsible for the accuracy and legality of information they submit.
Businesses must not misrepresent their identity, claim qualifications they do not have, submit false information, upload unlawful content, manipulate enquiries/rankings, sabotage another business, or abuse advertising/offer systems.
Businesses remain responsible for their own legal obligations, including licences, qualifications, insurance, consumer obligations and tax obligations.
Where the Platform offers paid business activation or verification, payment provides access to the relevant Platform functionality and/or verification process described at the time.
A Verified Business badge does not mean Bishop Auckland Life guarantees the business, its work, qualifications, prices, safety or services.
Verification should only communicate the verification status actually performed by the Platform.
Businesses are responsible for business name, description, contact information, opening hours, services, images, gallery content, external links, offers, advertising material and event information submitted by them.
Businesses must promptly correct information that becomes inaccurate.
Businesses are responsible for accurately selecting or entering services they provide.
The Platform may use structured service information to help customers discover relevant businesses.
A business appearing in a search does not guarantee that the business is suitable for the customer's exact requirements.
Businesses and event organisers are responsible for events they submit, including accuracy, dates, times, venues, pricing, availability, safety, permissions, licences, insurance, changes and cancellations.
Bishop Auckland Life may remove, reject or modify event visibility where necessary.
Businesses are responsible for accurately describing and honouring their offers.
An offer displayed on Bishop Auckland Life does not constitute a guarantee that the offer will be available, suitable or honoured.
Businesses must not create misleading, fraudulent or impossible offers.
Businesses may purchase advertising placements subject to availability and applicable pricing.
Advertising prices may vary by date, premium status, promotional pricing or other Admin-configured rules.
Paid advertising does not constitute endorsement, certification or recommendation.
Advertising content must be lawful and must not infringe third-party rights. Advertisers are responsible for ensuring they have permission to use all images, video, music, logos, trademarks, footage and other content.
Businesses may view the full advertising calendar for the planning period configured by Admin.
There is no 30-day visibility restriction. Businesses can see future dates, standard prices, premium dates, promotional prices, availability and booked dates.
Seeing a premium date does not guarantee advertising inventory will remain available until booking.
A booking is only confirmed once the Platform confirms the booking/payment according to the applicable payment flow.
Featured Business placement is paid or otherwise administered according to the Platform's current system.
Featured placement does not constitute endorsement, certification or guarantee.
Featured Offers are paid promotional placements subject to the limits, pricing and scheduling rules displayed to the business.
A Featured Offer does not constitute endorsement or guarantee.
Bishop Auckland Life may facilitate customer enquiries between customers and businesses.
The Platform is not normally a party to the underlying contract for goods or services between the customer and business.
Businesses remain responsible for responding to enquiries accurately and professionally. Customers remain responsible for the accuracy of information supplied.
Before submitting an enquiry, the customer must actively acknowledge that the information provided is accurate and complete, and understand that the business may need to revise its quote, requirements or timescale if the actual job differs.
Where a business provides a quote through the Platform, the quote should clearly identify the information and scope on which it is based where reasonably practical.
A quote may be conditional where the actual circumstances cannot be fully established remotely.
Before a customer accepts a quote, they must acknowledge that the quote is based on information available at the time and may change if the actual job or circumstances materially differ. Additional or materially changed work should be explained and, where reasonably possible, a revised quote provided for consideration before proceeding.
An accepted quote must not be silently edited. If a business needs to change a quote materially, a new quote version must be created, preserving the original and acceptance history. The revised version must be clearly identified and require customer acceptance/rejection where appropriate.
My Jobs may be available to customers whether or not the customer is also a business. A business account can use My Jobs as a customer when dealing with another business.
Receiving and managing incoming customer enquiries on the business side may require an active My Enquiries subscription unless Admin has granted an override.
Admin overrides remain available for legitimate testing, partnerships and demonstrations.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Bishop Auckland Life is a technology and discovery platform and is not the service provider whose services may appear on the Platform.
Any contract for goods or services is normally between the customer and the relevant business. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
A business appearing in search results, Ask Bishop, directories, Featured Business, advertising, offers, event listings or through priority placement does not mean Bishop Auckland Life endorses, certifies, guarantees or recommends that business.
Customers must make their own decisions and verify important information.
Ask Bishop is an AI-assisted information and discovery feature. AI responses may contain errors, omissions or outdated information.
Ask Bishop is not professional, legal, medical, financial, safety or other specialist advice. Users should verify important information directly with the relevant business, organiser or authoritative source.
Ask Bishop must not invent businesses, services, opening hours, events or other local information where the system does not have reliable information.
Search and Ask Bishop results may use structured services, categories, aliases, opening hours and service-specific priority.
Priority is intended to order relevant businesses, not to make an irrelevant business appear. Paid placement or priority must not be represented as a guarantee of suitability.
Payments for Platform features are separate from payments customers may make directly to businesses.
Subscriptions and paid Platform features are subject to the pricing, renewal and cancellation information shown at purchase. Nothing in these Terms removes statutory consumer rights.
Refund eligibility depends on the relevant product, purchase terms, applicable law and whether the relevant service has already been supplied. Nothing in these Terms removes statutory refund, cancellation or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Users may report businesses, offers, events, advertising or other content where reporting functionality is provided.
Reports may be reviewed by Admin. Bishop Auckland Life may remove content, restrict accounts, suspend functionality or take other reasonable action. We cannot guarantee that every inaccurate, fraudulent, abusive or unlawful item will be detected immediately.
Users must not submit fake listings, misleading events, manipulate rankings, submit false reports, interfere with another business, create fraudulent enquiries, abuse offers/advertising, circumvent payment controls, bypass access controls, exploit vulnerabilities or interfere with Platform operation.
Serious or repeated abuse may result in suspension or termination.
Users remain responsible for content they upload or submit. By submitting content, users grant the Platform the rights necessary to store, display, process and operate that content as part of the Platform. Users must have the necessary rights to submit the content.
Advertisers must own or have permission to use all images, video, audio, music, logos, trademarks, footage and written content. The Platform may reject or remove material where rights are uncertain or content breaches Platform rules.
The Platform may link to or integrate with third-party services including payment providers, external ordering systems, maps, social networks, business websites, email providers, notification services and AI providers.
Third-party services have their own terms and privacy policies. Bishop Auckland Life does not control third-party services and cannot guarantee their availability or accuracy.
We may suspend or terminate accounts where reasonably necessary because of serious or repeated Terms breaches, fraud, abuse, security concerns, illegal activity, platform manipulation, non-payment or legal requirements. Where appropriate, users may be given an opportunity to resolve an issue.
Customers and business accounts may request deletion through the in-app account deletion function.
Deletion may involve permanent deletion or anonymisation of personal information. Certain information may need to be retained where required by law, fraud prevention, payment records, dispute resolution or other lawful purposes.
We aim to keep the Platform available but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Features may be changed, temporarily unavailable, suspended or discontinued.
Local information can change. Opening hours, event dates, offers, prices, business services and availability may change after information is published. Users should verify important information.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Subject to applicable law, Bishop Auckland Life is not responsible for losses arising from a third party's goods, services, events, offers, advertisements, advice, workmanship, conduct or failure to perform. Nothing prevents a consumer from exercising rights under applicable consumer law.
We may update these Terms. Material changes may require renewed acceptance. Previous versions should be retained for legal and audit purposes.
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Platform's legal operator and relevant users, subject to mandatory consumer protections.
